All Roads Lead to Rome

Rome

Rome has been on our bucket list for a long time... We took a college class on Roman gladiators.  Let's just say that Adam leveraged Annie's diligent lecture notes on more than one occasion.

There is so much to see in Rome - the list seems to never end.  Our experience was made a lot more fun with Rick Steves' Audio Europe App.  Our friends suggested it and we can't thank them enough.  We enjoyed listening to Rick's walking tours about the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, Vatican City, St. Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, and the Jewish Ghetto.  It felt like we had our own personal tour guide with his knowledge, directions, and jokes along the way.

Adam read SPQR by Mary Beard during our stay in Rome.  He says that it is an absolute masterpiece and highly recommends it.

Transit Challenges on our last trip

Over the last 10 months, we were pretty lucky.  We took over 30 flights and never lost a bag or experienced anything worse than a 30-minute delay... getting back from Italy though was a different story.  Despite a delayed flight, a missed flight, a lost bag, and an overnight stranding in Dublin, we finally made it home back to Boston.
