Sex trafficking and sex slavery are enormous issues in Cambodia. One in 40 young girls here will be sold into sex slavery and 90% of them are sold by their own families. The founders of the Daughters of Cambodia Café have built something that is changing the trajectory of these women’s lives. The entire wait staff were previously sex slaves, and are now recovering and being reintegrated into society. We went here for lunch twice. The food was delicious and you could feel good eating it because you knew it was going to an incredible cause. We wished we’d been able to support this place even more.
